The ProHost^® System was conceived and designed by Robert Propst, one of the world's foremost researchers and innovators of integrated process systems. His innovations have improved the way people work in offices, health care facilities, factories and hotels. Propst is best known as the developer of the Herman Miller, Inc. open plan office system. Mr. Propst was prompted to research an integrated material handling system for the hospitality industry at the request of Westin Hotels & Resorts. As Westin realized and Propst's research confirmed, hotel operators lacked the functional equipment and systems needed to improve the efficiency of heart-of-the-house operations. Hostar International, Inc. was established in 1988 to develop and market on a industry wide basis the material handling system principles created by Mr. Propst.
